I am a story consumer.

I don’t mean “consumer” like in Marketing Talk. Books, TV series, movies—I consume them. Most of my favorite books have been read in one night. I’ve binge-watched a series in an entire weekend. On multiple vacations, I’ve dragged my family to a local bookstore to find the next book in a series because I couldn’t wait until we got home. I’ve reread books and rewatched movies immediately after finishing them because I needed to go back with a new set of eyes.

When I was little, I would staple stacks of paper together so I could write my own stories. In high school and college, I would wait in line at midnight releases for my favorite books and stay up until morning to finish them. It wasn’t until I was in college that I realized I could make a career out of my love of storytelling.

I have a degree in English literature and creative writing and got my start in the book industry at one of the largest children’s publishers in Minneapolis. Since 2020, I’ve been working my dream job as a full-time freelance editor. In addition to my editorial work, I’ve had various roles in marketing and publicity, so I have the eyes of an editor combined with the mind of a marketer. Not only will I be reading your manuscript for content and story, I’ll be looking at how it stands within (and can bring new life to) industry standards and trends.

I live in the Twin Cities with my husband and son, where in my free time I enjoy reading, doing my own personal writing, baking, playing D&D, and spending too much time on the internet. I look forward to working with you!
